Trouble in the Jar - Spread 2

Brittney’s senior thesis, Trouble in the Jar, is a 48-page silent children’s book that follows Sorceress Alara, who processes magical terrariums, and how harvesting materials from the terrariums mirrors the real-world issues of resource depletion and climate change, emphasizing the theme that actions have consequences.

Spread 2 sets up the coral reef and marsh terrariums for disaster later on in the story. The story begins with Alara tidying up their cottage in preparation for completing the immortality potion the next day. In the process of cleaning the mantle, she accidentally leaves the coral reef terrarium on the furnace, which will later be heated up by lighting a fire in the furnace, killing the coral. While putting a spell book back on the bookshelf, Alara accidentally knocks an oil-like potion over, spilling it into the marsh terrarium and contaminating the environment.
